Welcome to Roundoak Farm’s fiber & yarn shop. My sheep work very hard to bring you the very best fiber for all your spinning, knitting, crocheting and fiber art needs. I want to share with you my passion for working with quality fiber. Most of the wool you will see on these pages comes from my flock of 11 – Shetlands, Blue Faced Leicester, Dorset and Tunis. Mohair, Cashmere, Alpaca & Llama fiber comes from local breeders. Whether you are looking for 100% wool or a wool / blend be assured you will find only the best here. I spin all my own yarn and use only natural fibers. If you need your fiber handspun contact me for specifics. I give spinning lessons and have spinning wheel rentals available. Dyeing classes are available by appointment. ABOUT OUR FARM The farm is the original 100 acres purchased from The Holland Land Company in the 1800’s. My husband’s family bought the working dairy farm in 1967 and it was named Roundoak Farm. The farm was named after the Roundoak Stove used to heat the 175 year old farm house. Gene and I bought the farm from his parents in 1995 and although we have no dairy cows (yet) it is home to many different animals. We started Helen’s Hens, with 200+ free range heavy breed chickens. Our eggs are sold at the General Store in East Concord, N.Y. My great love is spinning and trying to find and buy good wool became such a project that I bought my own sheep. The fiber and yarn shop is a natural progression of my desire to share this love with others.
