Please remember that if you adopted your pet from a rescue group or shelter with a return policy and signed a contract upon adoption, you have an obligation to notify the group or shelter for permission to re-home.You may even be obligated by contract to return the pet to that group or shelter. If the group or shelter you notify cannot or will not take the pet back to facilitate its re-homing, they should give you permission to responsibly re-home.
